Hello Dear Ones,

Greetings and love from Virginia Beach, the site of this year’s Unity Eastern Region Conference. I am filled with gratitude this morning as I reflect on the gifts I have received this week.

It has been inspiring to see the many ways spiritual community expresses itself throughout our Unity movement. When practiced with intention and purpose, spiritual community brings into expression the love we are meant to share with one another. The love of the Divine becomes visible through our participation, through our willingness to see and be seen, and to allow ourselves to be both supported and challenged. Each of us, by sharing the gift of our presence, helps create the space in which transformation can happen.  I am deeply grateful to all of you who share your presence with Unity of Charlottesville.

Here’s a glimpse of what’s coming up on Sundays for the rest of the month, each one offering its own expression of community.

This Sunday, October 11, the wonderful Rev. Pat Bessey will be with us to share her  message, “The Courage to Create Together.” We’ll also have the joy of officially welcoming our seven new voting members with a special ceremony during the service.

The following Sunday, October 18, my message is called “Your Deep Gladness.” We’ll explore Frederick Buechner’s idea that our calling is found in that place where our deep joy meets what is needed most in the world.  Following the service, join us for our Annual Meeting, as we come together to tend to the life of our community.

For our final Sunday in October, I’m delighted to introduce you to John Moore, a gifted spiritual teacher and Family Constellations facilitator. Following the service on October 25, John will facilitate a Family Constellations workshop for our community. This work has has had a profound and liberating effect on my own life and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share it with you. You can find more information on our website.

And, of course, Sundays are just one of the ways in which we express our love for one another.  I know you will join me in gratitude for all the ways in which people show up as love – through prayer, spiritual practices, serving, and in countless acts of kindness and generosity.

Love,

Rev. Stacy
